USPA NEWS - The thirteen Presidents of Regions of France, reacted few hours after the deadly earthquake with a magnitude of 7 hit Morocco last night, particularly in the regions and municipalities of Marrakech, Al-Haouz, Ouarzazate, Azilal, Chichaoua and Taroudant. This disaster has already caused the death of more than 600 people and many injured. We publish the Statement as it was delivered, 9 september 2023.
The Presidents of the Regions of France send their thoughts to the families of the victims and to all the Moroccan people. The French Regions are available to the Moroccan Regions to take part in any solidarity action which could help provide first aid to the affected populations.

As part of the friendly relations between the Moroccan and French Regions, and the strengthened partnership established between the Association of Regions of Morocco and that of the Regions of France, in September 2017, Régions de France will coordinate the support of the French Regions to support relief interventions, supporting communities in their emergency actions, then rebuilding and meeting the needs of the populations. The Presidents of the Regions of France remain constantly informed of the situation in the affected regions. » Regions de France
